Availability Management main objective is to assure the ability of IT Service to be available
effective and cost effective. To achieve this there should be a compliance between the business availability requirements and the IT infrastructure capability. The compliance is measurable - there are given the Availability Ratio and methods including several key elements:
1) Reliability - the time which the system element with a functionality is expected to run without failures.
2) Maintainability - this elements shows how easy is to maintain the element
3) Resilience - the resistance for failures
4) Availability - the ability of the element to deliver its functionality over a stated elapsed period of time. In other words the availability is the proportion of time which a customer of the infrastructure component is able to access a particular service.
5) Serviceability - the measure shows the arrangements made to provide the Reliability, Maintainability and Availability of infrastructure element.
